OCTOBER FAVORITES

Ok, it’s officially Autumn (*technically*) and by that I mean it was in the low 70’s this weekend and might be the next as well (*fingers crossed*). I’m very excited for Fall weather and wardrobe. I’ve also been trying to make it a priority to seek rest and take things slow, so interestingly enough there are quite a few Cozy Girl items (think books, soft goods, self-care) this month.

Here are a few things I’ve been loving or have had my eye on.

I went to a fun Bed Threads event earlier this month at Neighborhood Goods and got to pick out some bedding! Really excited about these Olive Stripe Linens. I’m unwaveringly loyal to white linens and have never deviated, in my adult life, but I think they’ll really make our space feel more hygge and nappable. I’ve been following along with the Routine Community Challenge Wilde House Paper is fostering, surrounding the launch of their Routine Journals. It’s been a really great way to set new routines and rituals, or enforce ones I’ve been trying to keep consistently. I’ve loved the balance and surprising benefits it’s brought to my morning. One of my goals was to not pick up my phone for the first 30 minutes upon waking and I find myself not wanting to pick it up for much longer. And my screen time is down dramatically (30% after the first week!). And if you’re picking up a journal, use code ROSEEQ10 to save at checkout. Another journal/book I’ve been loving is Rest Easy by Ximena Vengoechea from Chronicle Books. Turns out I am a Gold Star Rester, which basically means I can’t rest until my to-do list is done or I’ve “earned it”…so I’m stuck in a loop pretty much chronically avoiding rest and never getting to the bottom of my to-do list. I’m working on it though! Maybe the bed sheets will help.

I’ve been living in these jeans from Decade Studio. Not to say I get compliments every time I wear them, but…I do. They have a tapered straight leg and pinch waist that fit like perfectly sourced vintage denim. I think they would look so great with this blouse (love the pointelle knit and the lettuce hem, very sweet) or with a cashmere polo like this (half-tucked and with this belt). I was waiting patiently for these boots to come back in stock and snagged them as fast as I could. I needed the perfect lightweight sock to go with them and found these at Aritzia. Somehow I’ve turned into a major shoe person out of nowhere and I currently have these Steve Madden loafers in my cart which would pair well aforementioned socks. I also rented this dress from Rent The Runway—perfectly transitions from summer to fall.

Lastly, as I am now a self-professed self-care girl and trying to slow down, I’m working on easy little things to spruce up my day-to-day. I had never tried a scalp scrub, but I’m laser-focused on haircare right now with the impending doom that is postpartum hair loss. My follicles are still holding on for dear life, so TBD there. I’ve been loving this duo from Ceremonia: the Papaya Scalp Scrub smells amazing and the Scalp Massager is truly divine. Lastly, if you are a podcast or audiobook person you may very well enjoy Case 63 on Spotify. Great for spooky season, it’s an audio drama that plays out like a movie but listens like a radio show (reminds me of early radio days when people would gather around the radio for entertainment a la War of the Worlds). Pair that with a cup of TJ’s bedtime tea and you are good to go.
